Description
HotStar Taq DNA Polymerase (B) contains high-performance Taq DNA Polymerase bound to a proprietary antibody, and it is supplied in an inactive state and has no polymerase activity at ambient temperatures. This prevents extension of nonspecifically annealed primers and primer dimers formed at low temperatures during PCR setup and the initial PCR cycle. Anti-Taq antibody is denatured in the initial DNA denaturation step of the PCR reaction, then the Taq DNA Polymerase activity is restored, so no additional hot start step is required. It has a 5´→3´ DNA polymerase activity and a 5´ flap endonuclease activity. The enzyme lacks a 3´→5´exonuclease activity (no proofreading ability). It leaves an “A” overhang, which makes the enzyme ideal for TA cloning.
HotStart Taq DNA Polymerase (B) (Glycerol-Free) is a glycerol free formulation of our regular HotStart Taq DNA Polymerase (B) and is well suited for automated high throughput testing, lyophilization or where accurate pipetting of small volumes are crucial. HotStart Taq DNA Polymerase (B) (Glycerol-Free) is available in different sizes and concentrations.
